PCR2022004 Kohls BSO AmendRESOLUTION #P.C. 004-2022 APPROVAL OF A BUILDING, SITE AND OPERATION PLAN AMENDMENT FOR KOHL'S LOCATED IN THE SW '/ OF SECTION 2 (S68 W15388 JANESVILLE ROAD / TAX KEY NO. 2167.995.008) WHEREAS, A submittal was received from Kathryn Lester of Richard L. Bowen & Associates for Kohl's Inc for a Building, Site and Operation Plan Amendment (BSO) located at S68 W15388 Janesville Road / Tax Key No. 2167.995.008, and WHEREAS, The petitioner is proposing repainting the eastern entrance to Kohl's to reflect the Sephora brand that is available inside of the Kohl's department store, and WHEREAS, The project will include repainting the exterior doorway an alternating black and white stripe color scheme on both sides with the black extending over the doors at the highest point of the project, and WHEREAS, The "eyebrow" feature that is over the front door would be painted white while the ceiling of the entryway will be black, and WHEREAS, The Moorland Corridor South Design Guide references Craftsman or Prairie Styles of architecture along with colors including grays, greens, browns, burgundies, and tans being encouraged, and WHEREAS, The proposed color scheme is to be reviewed based on the building design, materials, longevity, statement in relation to overall theme, character and color of adjacent structures and unity with existing structures on the project site, and WHEREAS, The black and white color scheme does not conform with the colors intended in the Moorland Corridor South however, the scale of the building is such that the black and white color scheme will not drown out the color scheme of the entire building and will be more of an accent color to identify the Sephora products being sold. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, The Plan Commission approves of a Building, Site and Operation Plan amendment for Kohl's LLC located at S68 W 15388 Janesville Road / Tax Key No. 2167.995.008. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, Any additional exterior renovations or site/sign modifications will require a new Building, Site and Operation Plan Amendment. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, Any new signage will require review and approval via a separate permit process. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, If any lighting is proposed separate reviews and permits will be required. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, A copy of said plans must be kept on file and that all aspects of this plan shall be maintained in perpetuity unless otherwise authorized by the Plan Commission. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, Failure to comply with the approval contained in this resolution shall result in the imposition of fines of $100 per day, the initiation of legal action, or both.
