RESOLUTION #00x-2020
RESOLUTION TO AMEND THE PROCEDURE
REGARDING PUBLIC COMMENT
DURING COMMON COUNCIL MEETINGS
WHEREAS, A procedure was adopted in June of 2006 to allow a “Public Comment”
period at Common Council meetings; and
WHEREAS, “Public Comment” has been a regular agenda item since that time; and
WHEREAS, In 2012, the Committee of the Whole discussed amending the procedure to
clarify the process and what agenda items the public can comment on and the
Procedure was amended by the Common Council with the adoption of Resolution #004-
2012; and
WHEREAS, It is proposed to amend the Procedure to allow each speaker three minutes
per agenda item; and
WHEREAS, The following procedure shall apply when a City of Muskego resident or
taxpayer wishes to speak under “Public Comment.”
1. A Public Comment Registration Form shall be completed and submitted to the
City Clerk before the beginning of the Common Council meeting.
2. Each speaker will be limited to a maximum of three minutes per person per
agenda item.
3. Speakers will be limited to making comments related to all agenda items
excluding closed session items relating to employment and labor issues.
4. Rules of conduct will be enforced during “Public Comment,” which will be
included with the registration form and amended as needed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED That the Common Council of the City of
Muskego does hereby amend the procedure regarding Public Comment during
Common Council meetings
