RESOLUTION #021-2020
RESOLUTION TO APPROVE THE APPOINTMENT BY THE MAYOR OF POLICE
CHIEF RIC RENS AS THE EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT COORDINATOR IN
COMPLIANCE WITH THE MUNICIPAL EMERGENCY OPERATIONS PLAN
WHEREAS, the Municipal Emergency Operations Plan (MEOP) has been developed to
provide procedures for the government of the City of Muskego to respond to various
types of emergencies or disasters that affect the community; and
WHEREAS, due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic as well as State of
Emergencies declared by the World Health Organization, State of Wisconsin, and
Waukesha County, Mayor Chiaverotti declared a State of Emergency existing within the
City of Muskego on March 18, 2020; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Mayor Chiaverotti’s declaration of a State of Emergency, Police
Chief Ric Rens, acting within his authority, activated the City of Muskego MEOP on or
about March 18, 2020; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the MEOP, Mayor Chiaverotti appointed Police Chief Ric Rens
as the Emergency Management Coordinator (EMC) to implement the Plan; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the MEOP, the appointment of the EMC is required to be
approved by the Common Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the City of
Muskego does hereby confirm the appointment of Police Chief Ric Rens as the
Emergency Management Coordinator to implement the MEOP for the City of Muskego.
