APPROVAL OF A BUILDING SITE AND OPERATION PLAN AMENDMENT FOR A BACK-UP
GENERATOR FOR NEXTEL ON CROWBAR DRIVE IN THE SW ¼ OF SECTION 7

WHEREAS, On May 19, 2005 a Building Site and Operation Plan amendment was submitted by
Gregory Thompson for Nextel for the placement of a back-up generator at an existing
telecommunications site located in the SW ¼ of Section 7, and
WHEREAS, The petitioner is requesting to place a back-up generator within an existing fenced
area near an existing Nextel equipment shelter on Crowbar Drive, and
WHEREAS, Said property is currently zoned RCE/OIP/OWP, Country Estate District with an
Institution and Public Service Overlay with a Wellhead Protection Overlay, and the existing tower
and equipment shelters have been previously approved by the Plan Commission, and
WHEREAS, The location of the proposed back-up generator is approximately 800 feet away from
Crowbar Drive, and
WHEREAS, The back-up generator would be used only in emergency situations.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That the Plan Commission approves of a Building, Site and
Operation Plan amendment submitted by Gregory Thompson for Nextel for the placement of a
back-up generator at an existing telecommunications site located in the SW ¼ of Section 7.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That buildings permits are still required before the unit is installed.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a copy of said plans be kept on file in the Building
Department and that all aspects of this plan shall be maintained in perpetuity unless otherwise
authorized by the Plan Commission.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That failure to comply with the approval contained in this
resolution shall result in the imposition of fines of $100 per day, the initiation of legal action, or
both.
