PCR2004125RESOLUTION #P.C. 125-2004 APPROVAL OF TWO MOUMENT SIGNS FOR MUSKEGO HIGH SCHOOL LOCATED IN THE NW ¼ OF SECTION 21 (W183 S8750 RACINE AVE. / TAX KEY NO. 2242.999) WHEREAS, On November 15, 2004 plans were submitted by Poblocki Sign Co. for two monument signs for Muskego High School located at W183 S8750 Racine Avenue (Tax Key No. 2242.999), and WHEREAS, Each monument sign is proposed to be composed of three signage sections totaling 53.1 square feet each and standing 12 feet tall, and WHEREAS, One sign would be located with a 10-foot setback from the right-of-way near the intersection of Woods Road and Racine Avenue and would contain the text “Muskego High School”, and WHEREAS, The other sign would be located with a 20-foot setback from the right-of-way of Racine Avenue and would contain the text “Muskego High School Performing Arts Center”, and WHEREAS, One section of each sign is proposed to have an electronic message board that will be lit with LED’s of an amber color, and WHEREAS, The property is zoned RS-1/OIP Suburban Residence with Institution and Public Service Overlay, and said signage conforms with the requirements of Section 6.09 of the Zoning Ordinance and requires Plan Commission approval prior to the issuance of a building and zoning permit, and WHEREAS, There is no detailed landscaping shown on the site plans, and THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That the Plan Commission approves the two monument signs for Muskego High School, located at W183 S8750 Racine Avenue (Tax Key No. 2242.999). BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a landscape plan will need to be submitted for the area around the base of the signs according to the General Design Guide before the sign permits can be release. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the LED reader board will only change once daily and that the messages cannot be scrolling or animated. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the sign plans are approved as submitted and a copy of said plans be kept on file in the Building Department and that all aspect of this plan shall be maintained in perpetuity unless otherwise authorized by the Plan Commission. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That failure to comply with the approval contained in this resolution shall result in the imposition of fines of $100 per day, the initiation of legal action, or both.
