APPROVAL OF SIGNAGE FOR SIMPLY DIFFERENT IN THE WESTWOOD CENTRE
LOCATED AT 575 W17321 JANESVILLE ROAD (TAX KEY NO. 2196.032)
RESOLUTION #P.C. 155-2001
WHEREAS, Plans were submitted by Darlene Martins representing Simply Different to install
signage for the Westwood Centre property located in the SE of Section 9, and
WHEREAS, The existing property contains a multi-tenant commercial structure. and
WHEREAS, The property is zoned 8-2 Business District and the use is in conformance to the
requirements of said zoning district, and
WHEREAS, The proposed sign is to 3-feet by 6-feet, and is not proposed to be illuminated at this
time. and sign will be flush mounted to the building, and
WHEREAS, The sign is proposed to be light green in color with black lettering to identify the
business, and
WHEREAS, The property is within the Downtown Design District and is subject to the provisions
of the Downtown Design Guide, adopted by the Plan Commission as a component of the
Comprehensive Plan, and
WHEREAS, The proposal is in conflict with the Color and Signage guidelines found in the
Downtown Design Guide, and
Centre and the proposal, which requires red channel set lettering for all wall signage, is in conflict
WHEREAS, The Plan Commission has previously approved color and signage for the Westwood
with the prior approval.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That the Plan Commission approves of 3 foot by 6-foot non-
