APPROVAL OF ATHLETIC FIELD SIGNAGE FOR THE MUSKEGO-NORWAY
SCHOOL DISTRICT PROPERTY LOCATED AT W183 S8750 RACINE AVENUE
(TAX KEY NOS. 2237.999.001 AND 2242.999)
WHEREAS, On September 18, 2001 plans were submitted by the Muskego High School Gridiron Club for
signage of the football field at the Muskego-Norway School District property located at W183 58750
Racine Avenue, and
WHEREAS, The existing property contains the district's high school and athletic facilities, and
WHEREAS, The property is zoned RS-2/01P Suburban Residence District as modified by the Institution
and Public Service Overly and the existing use is in conformance to all the requirements of said zoning
district, and
WHEREAS, A Conditional Use Grant was previously approved by the Plan Commission to allow
illumination of the football games at night, and
WHEREAS, The proposed signage will be construct on the east side of the press box approved by
Resolution #PC 175-2000, and
WHEREAS, The signage is allowed by Plan Commission approval for conditional uses or overlay districts
per Section 17:6.09(8)(a), and
a WHEREAS, The sign area measure approximately 5.5-feet by 16-feet (88 SF), and will be red and black
to match the school's colors, and -
WHEREAS, The sign is proposed to be illuminated only during games by three (3), 50-watt High-pressure
Sodium Vapor fixtures, and the proposed lighting meets the City's standards.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That the Plan Commission approves of the plans submitted on
September 18, 2001 by the Muskego High School Gridiron Club for signage for the athletic field at the
Muskego-Norway School District property located at W183 58750 Racine Avenue.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a copy of said plans be kept on file in the Building Department and
that all aspect of this plan as they relate to landscape areas building facades and drainage shall be
maintained in perpetuity unless otherwise authorized by the Plan Commission.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That failure to comply with the approval contained in this resolution shall
result in the imposition of fines of $100 per day, the initiation of legal action, or both.
