RECOMMENDATION TO COMMON COUNCIL TO ACQUIRE LANDS
LOCATED IN SECTION 20 FOR CONSERVATION PURPOSES
(HENNEBERRY DRIVE /TAX KEY NOS 2237,995,2237,996,2237,997,
2238.992, AND 2238.993)
WHEREAS, The City of Muskego DRAFT Conservation Plan has recommended
that lands be acquired in Section 20 of the City of Muskego, and
WHEREAS, The Engel-Ewald estate, being approximately 140 acres in size and
located on Henneberry Drive, has been identified as a high acquisition priority
due to its upland and lowland ecological significance, its threat to development,
and its connectivity to a larger greenway system, and
WHEREAS, The property is currently used for agricultural and open space
purposes, and
WHEREAS, The Comprehensive Plan depicts this area to remain in agricultural
and open space use, and
WHEREAS, Estate representatives have expressed an interest in retaining a
portion of the property which has little or no ecological significance, for the
purpose of developing a Conservation Subdivision.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That the Plan Commission recommends the
acquisition of the Engel-Ewald Estate to the Common Council.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Plan Commission will be receptive to a
sketch land division to include a Conservation Subdivision on a portion of the
Engel-Ewald Estate.
