APPROVAL OF A MONUMENT SIGN FOR ST PAUL'S LUTHERAN CHURCH AT THE
PROPERTY LOCATED AT S66 W14325 JANESVILLE ROAD (TAX KEY NO.
2165.972)
WHEREAS, Plans for a monument sign was submitted by Bauer Sign for the St. Paul's
Church property located at S66 W14325 Janesville Road on July 7,2000, and
WHEREAS, A 44 square foot monument sign is proposed along Janesville Road which
will contain a 12 square foot sign and a 32 square foot reader board, and
WHEREAS, Said sign will be internally illuminated with a yellow background and white
cut-out logo and letters, and will be mounted on the existing field stone pedestal, and
WHEREAS, Landscaping currently exists around the base of the monument sign. and
WHEREAS, The monument sign will have an overall height less than 7 feet from grade,
and therefore may be located with a zero (0) foot setback from the base setback line,
and
WHEREAS, The ultimate right-of-way for Janesville Road is 120' the proposed sign will
be located within the ultimate right-of-way, and all signage must be located outside of 0 the right-of-way at the base setback line, and
WHEREAS, The property is zoned RS-2/01P, Suburban Residence District as modified
by the Institution and Public Service Overlay, and
WHEREAS, Such signage requires Plan Commission approval prior to the issuance of
a building and zoning permit
WHEREAS, Said signage exceeds the permitted 35 square feet, and does not conform
with the requirements of Section 6.09 of the Zoning Ordinance, and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That the Plan Commission approves a 44 square foot
monument sign which includes a 32 square foot reader board, as submitted by Bauer
Sign for the St. Paul's Church property located at S66 W14325 Janesville Road.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the sign plans are approved as submitted and a
copy of said plans be kept on file in the Building Department and that all aspect of this
plan shall be maintained in perpetuity unless otherwise authorized by the Plan
Commission.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That failure to comply with the approval contained in this
resolution shall result in the imposition of fines of $100 per day, the initiation of legal e action, or both
