RECOMMENDATION OF APPROVAL OF THE URBAN FORESTRY MANAGEMENT
PLAN AND URBAN FORESTRY STRATEGIC PLAN AS RECOMMENDED BY THE
URBAN FORESTRY COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, The City of Muskego has received a grant from the Wisconsin Department
of Natural Resources for the purpose of preparing an Urban Forestry Management Plan
and an Urban Forestry Strategic Plan, and
WHEREAS, The City has retained Ranger Services, Inc. to prepare such plans in
coordination with the Urban Forestry Committee, and
WHEREAS, On March 28, 2000 the Urban Forestry Committee approved said Plans,
and
WHEREAS, On May 8, 2000 the Park and Recreation Board approved said Plans, and
WHEREAS, Many recommendations contained within the Plans fall within Plan
Commission purview, and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That the Plan Commission does hereby approve the
Urban Forestry Strategic Plan and Urban Forestry Management Plan as approved by
the Urban Forestry Committee on April 28, 2000.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the street tree standards adopted in the Plans
supercedes the standards established by the Plan Commission by Resolution #PC 101-
93.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Plan Commission recommends that the
Common Council approve said Plans.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Plan Commission recommends that the
appropriate section of the Land Division Ordinance be amended by the Common
Council to reflect updated standards presented in the Plans.
