APPROVAL OF STREET TREE PLAN FOR THE CHAMPIONS VILLAGE ADD.
NO. 3 OF COUNTRY CLUB VILLAGES PROPERTIES LOCATED IN THE NE X
OF SECTION 25
(SCOTT KRAUSE AND WALTER HAGEN DRIVES)
WHEREAS, On May 15, 2000 a street tree plan was submitted by Richard Kinter
for the Champions Village Addition No. 3 properties located in the NE % of
Section 25, and
WHEREAS, Chapter 18.60(3) of the Land Division Ordinance requires plantings
every 50' of street frontage and located outside of the City street right-of-way and
within 5' of the front lot line (on the homeowner's lot), and
WHEREAS, The Land Division Ordinance recommends specific trees for planting
and said plan meets this requirement, and
WHEREAS, The proposed plan indicates the planting of twenty (20) Norway
Maples and this is in conflict with the recommendation of the Urban Forestry
Committee, and
RESOLUTION #P.C. 106-2000
WHEREAS, The proposed plan indicates the planting of forty-five (45) Marshall
Seedless Ash and this is in conflict with the recommendation of the Urban
Forestry Committee to provide diverse species, and
WHEREAS, The plan does not indicate the caliper of trees to be installed, and
the landscaping plan has not been submitted illustrating proposed plantings
along Ryan Road.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That the Plan Commission approve of a street
tree plan for the Champions Village Addition No. 2 properties located in the NE %
of Section 25.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the trees shall have a minimum caliper of 2.5
inches.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a landscaping plan shall be submitted
illustrating the proposed plantings along Ryan Road.
