PCR2000064e RESOLUTION #P.C. 064-2000 SUPPORT OF WAUKESHA COUNTY LAND DEVELOPMENT WORKGROUP RECOMMENDATION TO RESTRICT THE USE OF CERTIFIED SURVEY MAPS FOR CERTAIN LAND DIVISIONS WHEREAS, In July 1999 Waukesha County convened a Land Development Workgroup to address issues created by current land division and development processes, and WHEREAS, the a Land Development Workgroup was comprised of town, village, and city officials a county board supervisor, representatives from the real estate development industry, land use planners, engineers, conservation groups, and the agricultural community, and WHEREAS, the Workgroup developed a minimum definition of a "Subdivision" to be applied in local municipal land division codes, and WHEREAS, The intent of the definition is to cause larger scale residential developments to proceed as platted subdivisions, and WHEREAS, Platted subdivisions are subject to Wisconsin DeDartment of e Administration and Waukesha County approving and objecting authorities, where minor land divisions are not, and WHEREAS, Such State and County actions would infringe upon the Home Rule authority granted to the City of Muskego. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That the Plan Commission support the recommendation of the Waukesha Land Development Workgroup to implement the following definition of a Subdivision: "A Subdivision is the division of a lot, as defined therein, by the owner, subdivider, or his successor in We, for the purpose of transfer of ownership or building development where the division creates more than four (4) lots less than 1.5 acres in size in five (5) years or where the division creates more than six (6) parcels or building sites of any size within five (5) years."
