APPROVAL OF A TEMPORARY RETAIL TRAILER FOR BOY SCOUTS OF
AMERICA TROOP 19 AT THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT
S74 W17005 JANESVELE ROAD
WHEREAS, Plans were submitted by Bob McGregor to place a temporary trailer for
retail sales for the Boys Scouts of America along the northeast comer of the Pick n Save parking
lot located at S74 W17005 Janesville Road, and
WHEREAS, The trailer will be 48 feet long and take up 8 parking stalls and be used for
the sale of Christmas wreaths, beginning the week of Thanksgiving and continuing two weeks
thereafter, and
WHEREAS, A total of six (6) individuals would be working the site at once between the
hours of 8:OO AM and 5:OO PM on Friday, Saturday and Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend and
the following Saturdays and Sundays only.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That the Plan Commission approves of an annual
temporary retail trailer for the Boy Scouts of America Troop 19 at the property located at S74 0 W 17005 Janesville Road and whereas annual review will be conducted by Planning Department
Staff and any substantial changes to the approval will require a review by the Plan Commission.
That a copy of the submitted plans be kept on tile in the Building Department. I
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That portable sanitary facilities, adjacent to the trailer,
are required unless: the sales are conducted no further than 300 feet from the Pick-N-Save store,
written permission is received allowing use of Pick-N-Save sanitary facilities for wreath sales
customers and workers, the hours of operation of the wreath sales coincides with public operation
hours of Pick-N-Save, and no complaints regarding the proximity of sanitary facilities is received
by the City’s Planning or Building Departments.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That failure to comply with the approval contained in
this resolution shall result in the imposition of fines of $100 per day, the initiation of legal action,
or both.
