SECTION 17:6.09 (ZONING ORDINANCE) OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE; AND
CHAPTER 31, OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE, AMEND CHAPTER 17,
THE CREATION OF SECTION 30:20 TO CHAPTER 30, BUILDING CODE
WHEREAS, The sign Ordinance Subcommittee was appointed to
make recommendations as to the updating and clarification of
examine the existing sign regulations of the City of Muskego and
those regulations, and
WHEREAS, Sign regulations currently exist in two locations
within the City's General Code in Chapter 17:6.09 and Chapter
31, and
WHEREAS, Those chapters are often unclear or outdated as to
their goals, definitions and standards, and
recommendations which were forwarded by the the Sign Ordinance
Subcommittee through Resolution #S.S. 1-94 adopted August 24,
1994.
WHEREAS, The Plan Commission has reviewed the
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That the Plan Commission
Chapter 17, Section 17:6.09 (Zoning Ordinance) of the Municipal
recommends to dissolve Chapter 31, of the Municipal Code, amend
Code and create Section 30:20 to Chapter 30, Building Code.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That in conjunction with this
re-codification, the Plan Commission and Sign Ordinance
Subcommittee recommend to the Common Council that the City
pursue the installation of "oversized" street signs at the
intersections of arterial and collector streets as identified in
the year 2010 Arterial Street & Highway System Plan to assist
the traveling public in locating business, industrial and
residential developments throughout the community.
