PCR1992268APPROVAL OF MODIFICATIONS TO THE EXISTING FREESTANDING SIGN AND RESOLUTION #P.C. 268-92 TO THE CANOPY FOR OLD LOOMIS SPORTS & LIQUOR WHEREAS, Midwest Sign Company submitted a request for the Old Loomis Sports & Liquor for sign approval for modifications to the existing freestanding sign and for the placement of signage (lettering) on the new gasoline canopy, and WHEREAS, No additional signage is being requested on the canopy, and WHEREAS, The existing freestanding sign presently contains a "KM" sign, a "LIVE BAIT" sign, and three individual gas price signs, and of the "KM" sign by replacing it with the "76" sign and the elimination of the "LIVE BAIT" sign replacing it with a self service and four different gasoline prices, and WHEREAS, The proposed modifications include the elimination illuminated and be placed in the same location as the present sign and the total square footage exceeds that which is normally permitted in the 8-4 Zoning District, however, the Plan Commission has authority to approve the type and size of signage for properties with Conditional Use Permits pursuant to Section 17:6.03 (3) C. WHEREAS, The signs will be two-sided, freestanding, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That the Plan Commission approve the modifications to the existing free standing sign and also approve the lettering on the new canopy on the North and East sides if in conformance with the submitted sketches. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, A sign permit is required to be obtained from the Building Inspection Department for both the canopy sign and the freestanding signs prior to erecting.
