RECOMMENDING DENIAL FOR REZONING IN THE NW 1/4 SECTION 36
WHEREAS, It was proposed to rezone the Weseljak property
and change the zoning in the NW 1/4 Section 36 from agricultural
to 1-2, and
WHEREAS, The text must be amended to allow a sanitary
landfill in the 1-2 district, and
WHEREAS, The City in Resolution #P.C. 103-74 removed the
industrial zoning and amended the Comprehensive Plan in 1977, and
WHEREAS, This zoning and use would not be consistent with
the Comprehensive Plan, and
WHEREAS, The use proposed in this 1-2 zoning is for a
sanitary landfill, and
a WHEREAS, The City has a sanitary landfill on the west end
of the City and a solid waste landfill next to this property, and
WHEREAS, The adverse affects are too numerous to mention.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That the Plan Commission
recommend to the Common Council that the petition to rezone the
Weseljak property in the NW 1/11 of Section 36 and amending the
text permitting a sanitary landfill be denied.
