PCR1980009RESOLUTION #P. C. 9-80 RECOMMENDATION TO COMMON COUNCIL FORMER LASSA PROPERTY recommendation of the Plan Commission, authorized the purchase of a parcel of land located in Section 8 which is referred to as the former Ralph E. Lassa property, and WHEREAS on September 24, 1974 the Common Council, upon thet WHEREAS the purpose of the acquisition was to make possible the connection of Shore Lane and Lochcrest when it would be deemed in the best public interest to do so, and WHEREAS the Finance committee authorized the Mayor to negotiate with interested parties to determine whether or not theywere interested in purchasing the westerly half of the former Lassa property, and WHEREAS the Common Council did receive an offer from Mr. Michael Nowitzke, which acceptance was subsequently vetoed by the Mayor, and property have objected to the sale citing its use by the residents in the area for recreational purposes, and WHEREAS a group of citizens living adjacent to or near the WHEREAS it is the responsibility of the Plan Commission to make recommendations to the Common Council regarding matters such as this, and WHEREAS the Parks and Recreation Board, although not interested in developing the parcel into a City recreation area, has recommended that the Common Council not sell it, and WHEREAS the possibility exists that alternatives are available which might make the property in question available to a larger number of citizens. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Plan Commission of the City of Muskego does hereby recommend to theCommon Council that the City retain ownership of this property. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that it is the recommendation of the Plan Commission that the appropriate committee of the Common Council work in concert with the residents of the area to determine the best use of the property.
