PARKLAND CINEMA SIGN
WHEREAS on June 18, 1974, the Plan Commission of the City of
Muskego defeated Resolution #P. C. 67-74 As Amended which provided
for a sign to serve the proposed Parkland Cinema, and
WHEREAS the action was not meant to be a negative vote for the
proposed theatre but only an expression of concern over the excessive
signing of the Parkland Plaza shopping center, and
WHEREAS that action has generated a considerable amount of
concern amongst the citizens of the city and the Common Council who
have urged that the Commission review their action and consider the
possibility of some compromise, and
WHEREAS the Commission is willing to the development of some
compromise between the city and the developer.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Plan Commission of the City of
Muskego is willing to accept the premise that some form of advertising
sign is needed to assure the success of the Parkland Cinema.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Plan commission does hereby declare
its intention to further discuss with the developers a proposed sign
for Parkland Cinema.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the discussion will center on the
design, color scheme, size and location of the sign and that upon
resolution of these issues a sign will be approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that construction of the theatre will not
take place until such a time as the Plan Commission approves the
advertising sign.
