PCR19740110 0 RESOLUTION #P. C. 11-74 REMOVAL OF ENVIRONMENTAL CORRIDOR FROM PROPOSED ZONING DISTRICT MAP WHEREAS, the Plan Commission is presently considering an updating of the zoning district map which includes the establish- ment of a zoning district known as Environmental Corridor, and WHEREAS, the proposal has generated a considerable amount of concern among landowners involved because of misinformation, rumors and a failure of the Plan Commission to clarify its intent regarding the Environmental Corridor District, and WHEREAS, the Plan Commission wishes to make clear its agreement, in principle, to the need for the preservation and protection of lowlands, wetland floodplains and the shorelines of lakes and streams, and 0 WHEREAS, the Plan Commission acknowledges the need to clarify its position regarding the preservation of certain lands within the community for future generations, and WHEREAS, the location of the proposed Environmental Corridors are in an area which is not likely to be developed for several years during which time a comprehensive drainage study of that area of the city will have been completed, 0 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Plan Commission of the City of Muskego does hereby further amend the proposed updated zoning district map by the removal of the classification of Environmental Corridor. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that it is the intent of the Plan Commission to undertake an indepth study of the need to preserve and protect lowlands, wetland floodplains and shorelines of lakes and streams within the city and ways in which it can best be achieved. a Resolution P.C. 11-74 Page 2. e BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Plan Commission urges the Common Council to complete the comprehensive drainage plan for the south half of the city as soon as economically practical in order that protection of needed wetland floodplains, watercourses and shorelines can be assured.
