RECOMMENDATION TO COUNCIL TO REZONE THE BORST
PROPERTY FROM THE EA - EXCLUSIVE AGRICULTRUAL DISTRICT
TO CI-1 CONSERVATION DISTRICT AND RCE – RURAL COUNTRY ESTATE DISTRICT AND A 2020
COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AMENDMENT FROM RURAL DENSITY RESIDENTIAL TO CONSERVATION
LOCATED IN THE NE ¼ OF SECTION 7 (TAX KEY NO. 2185.999, 2185.998, 2190.996.004, AND
2190.995 / FIELD DRIVE)
WHEREAS, On October 18, 2011 a petition for a rezoning was submitted by the City of Muskego to rezone a property
from the EA – Exclusive Agricultural District to CI-1 – Conservation District and RCE – Rural Country Estate District (Tax
Key Numbers 2185.999, 2185.998, 2190.996.004, and 2190.995 / Field Drive), and
WHEREAS, The City of Muskego recently approved an offer to purchase portions of the Nancy Borst lands along Field
Drive and the purchase was for conservation purposes of this high environmental quality lands, and
WHEREAS, As part of the purchase agreements the City requires that the lands be rezoned appropriately and that the
boundaries of the new lands be properly designated, and
WHEREAS, The 2020 Comprehensive Plan calls for this area to be Rural Density Residential uses and a partial
comprehensive plan amendment is required to convert the portions of the property to be rezoned to CI-1 Conservation
District to be shown on the 2020 map as for Conservation purposes,
WHEREAS, The reason for the request is to position zoning rights for a new City of Muskego open space preservation
and future land division, and
WHEREAS, A Public Hearing for the rezoning is before the Common Council on November 22, 2011 where no one
spoke for or against.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That the Plan Commission does hereby recommend approval to the Common Council
for the rezoning from EA – Exclusive Agricultural District to CI-1 – Conservation Lands and RCE and for a 2020
Comprehensive Plan amendment (Tax Key No 2185.999, 2185.998, 2190.996.004, and 2190.995 / Field Drive) subject
