ccr1966215RESOLUTION 8215 ASSESSMENT DISTRICT #l PRELIMINARY RESOLUTION DECLARING INTENT TO EXERCISE SPECIAL ASSESSMENT POWERS UNDER SECTION 6.6.60, WISCONSIN STATUTES OF 1965. 0 RESOLVED, by the Common Council of the City of Muskego, Wisconsin: 1. The Common Council hereby declares its intention to exercise @its power under s. 66.60, Wisconsin Statutes, for the following municipal purpose and to levy special assessments upon property within the following described area for special benefits conferred upon such property by reason of the improvement thereof by installation of sanitary sewer pipes in part of the street known as County Trunk Highway "Y" located in the City of Muskego, Waukesha County, Wisconsin; said property to constitute an assessment district known as Assessment District ill: All that part of Section 9 and Section 16, Town 5 North, Range 20 East, City of Muskego, Waukesha County, Wisconsin, described as follows: All that land abutting C.T.H. ''Y" (Racine Ave.) from S.T.H. "24" to a point apprqfimately 5700 feet South of S.T.H. "24". 2. Before such improvements are made, the City Council, acting as the Board of Public Works is directed to cause sewer service pipes to be laid in said street from the mains to the curb line of each lot fronting on the street and to keep an accurate account of 'ithe expenses incurred in front of each lot and report the same to the Clerk-Comptroller, who shall cause the amount charged to each lot to be entered on the then current tax roll as a special tax against said lot. 3. The total amount assessed against such district shall not exceed the average cost of installation of an 8 inch sanitary sewer having an average depth of 10 feet. The Common Council determines that such improvements shall be made under the police power and a schedule of the proposed assessments is attached and marked "Exhibit A". 4. The assessments against any parcel may be paid in cash or in ten (10) annual installments, or within the time prescribed as will be determined at the public hearing on the proposed assessment. 0 5. The City Engineer is directed to prepare a report consisting of: a. Final plans and specifications for said improvements. b. An estimate of the entire cost of the proposed work or improvement. c. Schedule of proposed assessments. Upon completing such report the City Engineer is directed to file a copy thereof in the City Clerk's office for public inspection. ' 6. Upon receiving the report of the City Engineer, the Clerk is directed to give a Class I notice of a public hearing on such report as specified in s. 66.60 (7), Wisconsin Statutes. The hearing shall be held at the Council chambers in the City Hall at a time set by the Clerk in accordance with s. 66.60 (7), Wisconsin Statutes. ATTEST: City Clerk
