PAYMENT OF CLAIM FOR IMPROPER
ASSESSMENT
WHEREAS the City of Muskego has received a claim from Mr. Anthony
F. Demshar for back taxes paid on a cottage allegedly removed in i) 1955, and
WHEREAS the City Attorney has advised that the Wisconsin Statutes 74.73 does not permit the City to go back more than one year and
give any credit to taxes paid prior to 1965, and
WHEREAS the amount of taxes paid in error amounted to $37.78 for
the year 1965, and
WHEREAS the Finance Committee has recommended that the most
convenient method of paying the claim would be through a cash
settlement,
THEREFORE be it resolved that the Common Council of the City of
Muskego does hereby authorize the Cit Clerk-Comptroller to refund
Mr. Anthony F. Demshar the amount of 37.78 for taxes paid on the
‘non.existent improvement for the year 1965.
