TO INSTALL EMERGENCY VEHICLE PREEMPTION EQUIPMENT AT RACINE AVENUE AND HILLENDALE DRIVE SIGNALS WHEREAS, The attached proposal submitted by Pro Electric, Inc. outlines the scope of work to install an EVP (Emergency Vehicle Preempt) System at the intersection of Racine Avenue and Hillendale Drive at a cost of $8,988; and WHEREAS, The cost to install the EVP system is the City's responsibility; and WHEREAS, The Finance Committee has reviewed the documentation and has recommended approval to the Common Council. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED That the Common Council of the City of Muskego, upon the recommendation of the Finance Committee, does hereby accept the proposal submitted by Pro Electric, Inc. to install an EVP System at the intersection of Racine Avenue and Hillendale Drive at a cost of $8,988. Wbite, P.E., City Engin..;~ Installation of Emergency Vehicle Preemption Equipment at Racine Ave. and Hillendale Drive Signals To: From: Date: October 4, 2007 Background Waukesha County is currently constructing new signals at the above subject intersection. Previously the City, at it's cost, has installed EVP equipment at the County owned signals to aid fire and police vehicles traveling thru these signalized intersections. If the City wants EVP equipment at this signal, the cost to install is the City's responsibility. Recommendation for Action by Committee: . Attached is a proposal in the amount of $8988.00 from Pro Electric, Inc., the electrical contractor installing the signals on the project. I have spoken to the police and fire departments regarding the installation of EVP equipment and both departments recommend the installation at this intersection.
