COMMON COUNCIL - CITY OF MUSKEGO
RESOLUTION #195-2007
AUTHORIZATION TO PURCHASE CROSSMATCH INTERFACE
FOR KPI PHOENIX UPGRADE
WHEREAS, When the City purchased the KPI Phoenix upgrade, an interface from
Phoenix to the Crossmatch fingerprinting system was included; and
WHEREAS, Crossmatch also requires an interface for this process to work and the
Information Systems Director and Police Department are requesting authorization to
purchase the required interface; and
WHEREAS, The Finance Committee has reviewed the request and has recommended
approval to the Common Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED That the Common Council of the City of
Muskego, upon the recommendation of the Finance Committee, does hereby authorize
the purchase of the Crossmatch Interface for the KPI Phoenix Upgrade.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That the expenditure for the interface will be taken from
the funds previously approved for the Phoenix Software and no additional funding is
required.

Background Information:
When we purchased the KPI Phoenix upgrade, an interface from Phoenix to the
Cross match f"mgerprinting system was included. This interface will allow the Police
Department to streamline the booking process, making it quicker, allowing all
booking procedures to happen right away including importing the mug shots into
the system, and eliminating the need for duplicate data entry into 2 separate
systems.
Crossmatch also requires an interface for this process to work, as the interfaces uses
a two way handshake. This request is to purchase the required interface from
Cross match. No additional funding is required, as some services originally approved
in the KPI Police upgrade will be done in-house, providing the needed funds.
