COMMON COUNCIL - CITY OF MUSKEGO
RESOLUTION #118-2007
HONORING CITY OF MUSKEGO GIRL SCOUT GOLD AWARD
RECIPIENT KATHERINE LEIGH DERBYSHIRE
WHEREAS, KATHERINE LEIGH DERBYSHIRE, resident of the City of Muskego and a
senior at Muskego High School, earned the Girl Scout Gold Award in February of 2007;
and
WHEREAS, KATIE is a Juliette of the Great Blue Heron Girl Scouts, Sun Lakes Service
Unit; and
WHEREAS, This achievement is the result of years of service and dedication as the
Gold Award is the highest recognition a young woman can earn in Girl Scouting; and
WHEREAS, During KATIE'S 12-year participation in scouting, she earned many awards
and merit badges throughout her advancement in rank. In addition, she received
multiple leadership awards and recognitions; and
WHEREAS, KATIE spent 67 1/2 hours on her service project in which she constructed
and helped install six park benches at the Engel Conservation area; and
WHEREAS, In addition to scouting, KATIE enjoys various extracurricular activities
including music, drama and fencing while also doing volunteer work in the community;
and
WHEREAS, The Common Council of the City of Muskego wishes to recognize the
achievements of KATIE DERBYSHIRE.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED That the Common Council of the City of
Muskego does hereby commend KATHERINE LEIGH DERBYSHIRE for earning the
Girl Scout Gold Award and acknowledges and applauds her efforts to reach this
achievement.
