CCR2007117. COMMON COUNCIL - CITY OF MUSKEGO RESOLUTION #117-2007 RESOLUTION ACKNOWLEDGING THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE FOUNDING OF ST. LEONARD CONGREGATION WHEREAS, From the time of the first settlers of the Muskego area, faith was and is an important facet of citizens' lives; and WHEREAS, The original Muskego families were largely Lutheran and the Catholic families were served by parishes in surrounding communities; and WHEREAS, Roman Catholic Archbishop Albert Meyer, at the request of Rev. Leonard Drewek, founded a Catholic parish in Muskego on June 28, 1957; and WHEREAS, The 100 or so original members - who held their first meeting in the Town Hall- have grown to become a parish of 1780 plus households (equaling almost 25% of the population of the City of Muskego). . NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED That the Common Council of the City of Muskego is proud to acknowledge the accomplishments of St. Leonard Parish and extends the community's best wishes to the clergy and parishioners as they celebrate the parish's 50th anniversary.
