COMMON COUNCIL - CITY OF MUSKEGO RESOLUTION #201-2006 AUTHORIZE EXECUTION OF THE LABOR AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE PUBLIC WORKS AND UTILITIES DEPARTMENTS AND THE CITY OF MUSKEGO JANUARY 1, 2006 - DECEMBER 31, 2007 WHEREAS, A settlement has been reached between the negotiators for the City of Muskego and the negotiators for the employees of the Public Works and Utilities Departments. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED That the Common Council of the City of Muskego, upon the recommendation of the Finance Committee, does hereby approve the settlement agreement, as attached, between the employees of the Public Works and Utilities Departments and the City of Muskego for the period January 1, 2006 through December 31, 2007 subject to ratification by the employees. September 28, 2006 Mr. Tim Wauer/Mr. Steve Sobieski Public Works/Public Utilities Negotiating Team Gentlemen: Following our negotiation session oftoday, this is where the City stands on changes for the new term for the DPW!Utility labor agreement. 1. New agreement term - 2006 - 2007 (2 year). 2. Wages - Effective January 1,2006 - 2% increase July I, 2006 - I % increase January 1,2007 - 2.75% increase 3. Article IX - Holidays - Spring holidays (one-half day) to be celebrated on April 4,2006, April 6, 2007, and March 21, 2008. . 4. Change Article XVI - Vacation Section 16.05 to read: Vacation allowance shall be taken during the vacation year or it shall be lost, except that employees who are required by their department head to defer all or part of their vacation in a given vacation year shall be per- mitted to take it within the first six (6) months of the ensuing vacation year, after which it shall be lost. An employee who has unusual circumstances arise where he/she has used all accrued vacation time and he/she needs to use additional vacation time prior to its being accrued, may request permission to use up to forty (40) hours of vacation time in advance of it's being accrued as follows: 1. The employee must request permission in writing for advance use of vacation time from the City Administrator and Dept. Superintendent who shall make the determination of whether unusual circumstances exist to warrant the use of vacation in advance of its normal accrual. 2. The maximum amount of vacation that may be used in advance of accrual shall be limited to forty (40) hours. 3. If an employee terminates employment prior to his anniversary Date, any borrowed vacation will be deducted from his last paycheck. . . 5. Change Article XVII - Insurance Section 17.02 Health insurance premium increases as attached. 6. Add to Article XXX - Longevity - After 25 years of continuous service - $30.00/month 7. Change Article XXVIII - 28.01 of agreement to read: Clothing, shoe, boot reimbursement shall be up to $300.00 annually. A maintenance allowance of two hundred fifty dollars ($250) for clothing worn at work and not otherwise provided by the City shall be paid to each employee at the payday nearest December 1 of each year. . . . . . Health Insurance Premium Contributions Information For 2005 Employees Actually Paid Family - $1,164.54 x 5% = $58.23 Limited - $ 851.27 x 5% = $42.56 Single - $ 394.47 x 5% = $19.72 For 2005, the maximum an employee would have contributed - Family = $70.00 Limited = $52.00 Single = $35.00 Proposed for 2006 - Family - $1,304.76 x 6% = $78.29 Limited - $ 953.77 x 6% = $57.23 Single - $ 441.97 x 6% = $26.52 For 2006, the maximum an employee would contribute- Family = $70.00 Limited = $52.00 Single = $35.00 For 2007, the maximum an employee would contribute -7% of premium or: Family = $80.00 Limited = $60.00 Single = $40.00 For 2008, the maximum an employee would contribute - 8% of premium or: Family = $90.00 Limited = $68.00 Single = $45.00
