RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE
FILLING THE EXISTING ACCOUNTANT POSITION
WHEREAS, The existing Accountant position has been vacant since January 26, 2005
when the employee in that position was appointed the Interim Finance Director; and
WHEREAS, The City Administrator has revised the Position Description for Accountant
and proposes to fill the position to provide additional professional support to the
Finance Department; and
WHEREAS, The Common Council must authorize the filling of the existing Accountant
position.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED That the Common Council of the City of
Muskego does hereby authorize the City Administrator to beglin the process to fill the
existing Accountant position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive.

Maintains City General, sewer utility, water utility, Big Muskego Lake District, RCA funds, TlF funds, special
revenue and Capital fimd financial records.
Reconciliation of General Ledger Accounts with subsidiary ledgers and adjust Hf General Ledger accordingly,
Prepares necessary journal entries for month-end closing. Maintains back-up of final1cial system for inquiry by other
departments.

. Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions
Bachelors degree in Accounting, or closely related field, with one to three ye:ars municipal accounting and payroll
processing experience or an Associate degree in Accounting, or closely related field, with three to five years
municipal accounting and payroll processing experience, or any combination of education and experience that
provides equivalent knowledge, skills a.nd abilities.S'ertifì~d12Jlblien'Lcc()1IJltant preferred.
