CCR2004054COMMON COUNCil - CITY OF MUSKEGO RESOLUTION #054-2004 RECOGNITION OF SERVICE FOR JEAN K. MARENDA - WHEREAS, CITY CLERK-TREASURER JEAN K. MARENDA has chosen to retire effective April 9, 2004 after 28 years of dedicated service; and WHEREAS, Jean has served the City of Muskego conscientiously and professionally during her career; and WHEREAS, Jean began her employment with the City on October 28, 1975 in the Building Inspection Department and on May 30,1977, she became the Secretary to the Plan Commission; and - WHEREAS, On June 1, 1983, Jean was appointed to the position of Deputy City Clerk; and WHEREAS, In 1988, Jean was elected to the Office of City Clerk-Comptroller and was successfully re-elected to that office until she was appointed as the first City Clerk- Treasurer in 1996; and WHEREAS, Throughout her career, Jean continuously pursued educational opportunities to increase her knowledge and improve the services provided to the community becoming a Certified Municipal Clerk in July, 1990; and WHEREAS, Jean was an active member of her profession serving in various capacities in organizations throughout the years most recently as a District Director of the Wisconsin Municipal Clerks Association, and WHEREAS, Jean has served the community through her volunteer efforts with the Muskego Woman's Club, Icetronauts and Little Muskego lake Association. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED That the Common Council of the City of Muskego does hereby recognize and appreciate the 28 years of dedicated, professional, and diligent service given by JEAN K. MARENDA to the City of Muskego and its citizens. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT while Jean's presence at City Hall will be greatly missed, the City wishes her a healthy and happy retirement and trusts she will continue to be an integral part of this community.
