CCR2003133'~ AMENDED COMMON COUNCIL - CITY OF MUSKEGO RESOLUTION #133-2003 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE MILWAUKEE METROPOLITAN SEWERAGE DISTRICT TO INSTALL THE RYAN CREEK INTERCEPTOR SEWER WHEREAS, The City of Muskego is a rapidly developing municipality in southeast Waukesha County, State of Wisconsin; and WHEREAS, The southeast portion of the City of Muskego is planned by the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District to be serviced by the extension of the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District Ryan Creek Interceptor Sewer; and ,'~ WHEREAS, The Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District has identified the Ryan Creek Interceptor Sewer within its original facility plan, to extend from a connection to the existing Metropolitan Interceptor System at the intersection of S. 60th Street and W. Ryan Road, to the intersection of S. 11ih Street and W. Ryan Road following the general location of the Ryan Creek; and WHEREAS, The area ofW. Ryan Road, (STH. 100), from 2yth Street to S. 68th Street, is planned by the Wisconsin State Department of Transportation for its reconstruction from a two lane arterial roadway to a six lane divided highway in the year 2006; and WHEREAS, The installation of the Ryan Creek Interceptor sewer along W. Ryan Road from S. 60th Street to S. 68th Street after W. Ryan Road has been reconstructed would be damaging to the new infrastructure and disruptive to traffic; and WHEREAS, The Muskego Common Council has determined that the failure to install the Ryan Creek Interceptor Sewer prior to the reconstruction of Ryan Road (S.T.H. 100) would severely limit the potential for the expansion of the Interceptor Sewer System; and WHEREAS, The Common Council of the City of Muskego has determined that the timely installation of the Ryan Creek Interceptor sewer will promote the health, safety, welfare, economic development and employment opportunity potential of the City. of Muskego. ., I NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED That the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District is hereby requested to implement its plan to install the Ryan Creek Interceptor Sewer along W. Ryan Road from S. 60th Street to S. 68th .~ I'~ ., ~ Resolution #133-2003 Page 2 Street, prior to the planned reconstruction of W. Ryan Road (STH. 100) in the year 2006. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That the Common Council of the City of Muskego is hereby requesting that the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District amend its facility plan to include the future installation of the Ryan Creek Interceptor from 68th Street to the southwest border of the City of Franklin (County Line), thereby providing gravity sanitary sewer service to the southeastern areas of the City of Muskego. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That this Resolution is subject to approval of a concurring resolution by the City of Franklin. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That the City Clerk is hereby directed to send a copy of this resolution to the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage Commission and its Executive Director.
