COMMON COUNCIL - CITY OF MUSKEGO
RESOLUTION #061-2003
RESOLUTION TO SUPPORT CREATION OF
WISCONSIN MUNICIPALITIES HEALTH CARE TRUST AND
CONSIDER MEMBERSHIP
WHEREAS, The City of Muskego health insurance costs have almost doubled in the
past three years; and
WHEREAS, Health insurance costs are projected to increase upwards 20% each year
for the next several years; and
WHEREAS, The majority of the City's budgeted expenditures are employee salaries
and benefits; and
WHEREAS, The Health Care Trust will be comprised of a large group of "lives," which
will assist in the negotiating power with health care providers compared to the current
smaller group of City employees.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the Common Council of the City of
Muskego, upon the recommendation of the Committee of the Whole, supports the
creation of a Wisconsin Municipalities Health Care Trust and will favorably consider
membership in the same, contingent upon:
. The Wisconsin Health Care Trust, Inc. being formed
. Receipt of a favorable report on Genesis Health Care and on the Health Care
Plan proposed
. Final City of Muskego Common Council approval of the trust agreement
