As Certified Survey Map approvals have occurred they have dedicated the rights-of-way for Parker Drive to a width of 40 feet from centerline. In 2002, the City amended the Street and Highway System Plan, and reduced the ultimate width of Parker Drive to 66 feet. This was done due to DNR acquisitions and low densities of the Comprehensive Plan, which have eliminated the need for arterial street configurations in this neighborhood. The Public Works Committee has initiated the process, and has recommended the reduced rights-of-way. A total of 25 parcels are affected, as shown on the exhibits enclosed. DISCUSSION PC 132-2002 It is recommended that the land (at mmt 7 feet of additional land across the front of each parcel adjacent property. be vacated and returned to the tax roll. When vacated, the right-of-way will become a part of the STAFF RECOMMENDATION PC 132-2002 Approval of Resolution PC 132-2002 RESOLUTION #P.C132-2002 RECOMMENDATION TO COMMON COUNCIL TO VACATE RIGHT-OF-WAY DEDICATED FOR PARKER DRIVE LOCATED IN SECTIONS 21.28, AND 29 WHEREAS, A request to vacate a street right-of-way was initiated by the Public Works Committee for property located in the Sections 21, 28, and 29, and WHEREAS, Said right-of-way is located along Parker Drive east of Racine Avenue and consists of 25 parcels with land dedications between 33 feet and 40 feet from centerline, and WHEREAS, Said dedication is not necessary to serve future development on adjoining properties, and WHEREAS, Said right-of-way has been removed from the 2010 Street System Plan, and THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That the Plan Commission recommends to the Common Council the vacation of street right-of-way for Parker Drive as depicted in the attached exhibits.
