RESOLUTION #110-2001
RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF ASSEMBLY BILL 399
WHEREAS, Assembly Bill 399 has been proposed to exempt cities, villages, towns and
counties from paying the excise tax imposed on gasoline and diesel fuel; and
WHEREAS, Currently municipalities pay both federal and state excise tax on fuel, with
the federal tax refunded to the municipality upon submittal of an application; and
WHEREAS, It would be in the public interest that government not tax government.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED That the Common Council of the City of
Muskego does hereby support the passage of Assembly Bill 399.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That the Clerk-Treasurer is hereby directed to provide a
copy of this resolution to our state representatives and the Joint Survey Committee on
Tax Exemptions.
