SUPPORT OF & AUTHORIZATION TO APPLY FOR 1995 LITTLE/BIG
MUSKEG0 - WIND LAKES PRIORITY WATERSHED PROJECT GRANT
funded available from the Wisconsin Nonpoint Source Pollution
WHEREAS, The Department of Natural Resources has grant
Abatement Program (NPS) under the Little/Big Muskego - Wind
Lakes Priority Watershed Project, and
enhancement projects with funding provided by NPS in relation to
WHEREAS, The City is currently involved in water quality
the City's 1994 grant proposal, and
WHEREAS, The City has developed a 1995 grant proposal to
request additional funds from NPS for several projects

Computerized Mapping Inventory of Watershed.
Purchase of street sweeper to control street
sediment runoff.
Inventory and engineering of "Muskego Creek" and
stream bank erosion protection to coincide with
"Canal West" to identify priority areas for
Big Muskego Lake Draw Down.
Stormwater Management Planning for the Little/Big
Muskego Lakes Watershed.
Inventory and engineering of retro-fit for
Marland Meadows dry basin to create wet basin.
Establish and operate storm
water/erosion/pollution control hot line.
Establish standards for phosphate applications to
residential, commercial and recreational
properties, and conduct phosphate seminars.
Develop instructional video to educate homeowners,
home builders and developers on erosion
control techniques and their proper installation.

indicate the need for the funding of a full time PLWA Grant
Administrator/Deputy Erosion Control Inspector as represented by
the NPS 1995 grant proposal.
WHEREAS, Anticipated project demands, the magnitude of tasks

the Comm NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That
the City of Muskego, upon recommendation of the Finance
Committee, does hereby authorize the City to apply for grant
Program (NPS) under the Little/Big Muskego - Wind Lakes Priority
funds from the Wisconsin Nonpoint Source Pollution Abatement
Watershed Project.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the City Clerk and Mayor are
hereby authorized to sign the necessary documents in the name of
the City.
