EXPANSION OF SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL FACILITY
APPROVE DISTRIBUTION OF FUNDS FROM
WHEREAS, the Common Council approved Resolution #67-92 on
March 24, 1992 adopting an agreement for expansion of Waste
Management of Wisconsin, Inc.'s solid waste disposal facility
located with the City of Franklin, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin;
and
WHEREAS, pursuant to that agreement Waste Management, Inc. will
make an annual payment to be divided between Waukesha County
and the City of Muskego on the basis of a negotiated agreement
between the County and the City; and
WHEREAS, a negotiated settlement has been reached whereby the
annual payments will be divided 25% to Waukesha County, 75% to
the City of Muskego and the City has agreed that they shall use
program to help manage solid waste; and their portion of the fee to establish a curbside recycling
WHEREAS, these funds will be deposited into the City's
Recycling Special Revenue Fund for use in a curbside recycling
program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the
City of Muskego, upon the recommendation of the Public Welfare
Committee, does hereby approve the negotiated agreement between
Management of Wisconsin, Inc. will make annual payments in
the City of Muskego and Waukesha County whereby Waste
accordance with the negotiated Metro Landfill Agreement with
75% to the City of Muskego and 25% to Waukesha County.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City's 75% share of the payment
shall be used for a curbside recycling program.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this approval is subject to
Waukesha County adopting an ordinance or resolution to approve
this negotiated agreement.
