RESOLUTION #148-92
AUTHORIZE USE OF LEGAL SERVICES HOTLINE
WHEREAS, the City of Muskego is a member participant in the
League of Wisconsin Municipalities Insurance Trust Police Loss
Control Program; and
WHEREAS, this Program offers 24-hour-a-day telephone access to
legal counsel to its members at no cost; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the telephone access to legal counsel is
to provide advice to help ensure that proper police procedures
are followed, that defenses to potential claims have been
preserved, and that available legitimate, legal options are
considered for actions taken.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the
City of Muskego, upon the recommendation of the Finance
Committee, does hereby authorize the Police Chief, or the
Chief's designee, to use the Legal Service Hotline without any
prior approval and based upon the Chief's independent judgment
as to necessity.
