AWARD OF BID
PUBLIC WORKS GARAGE ADDITION
WHEREAS, the City advertised for bids for the Public Works Garage
Addition and Alteration Project, and bids were received as attached;
and
WHEREAS, the City Engineers have recommended approval of the low bid
from F.C. Price Corp. of East Troy for a Base Bid of $543,085, which
includes an 80-foot by 120-foot long garage addition, plus the
alternate bid for equipping the building with an automatic fire
sprinkler system for $15,730, plus the alternate bid for constructing
the garage 180-foot rather than 120-foot long for $103,870; the added
existing roofing for $51,642, for a total cost of $716,027.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the City of
Muskego, upon the recommendation of the City Engineers, does hereby
accept the low bid from F.C. Price Corp. of East Troy for a Base Bid
of $543,085, which includes an 80-foot by 120-foot long garage
addition, plus the alternate bid for equipping the building with an
automatic fire sprinkler system for $15,730, plus the alternate bid
$103,870; the added cost of the fire sprinkler system for $1,700; and
for constructing the garage 180-foot rather than 120-foot long for
replacing the existing roof for $51,642, for a total cost of $716,027.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a contingency fund in the amount of
$60,000 be set up to cover potential increased costs.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a written agreement be entered into for
engineering services during the construction period between the City
and Ruekert & Mielke and that the Mayor and Clerk are hereby
authorized to sign the necessary documents in the name of the City.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor, in consultation with the
Public Works Superintendent or Utilities Superintendent, is
authorized to sign any change orders at his discretion.
