CCR1991039COMMON COUNCIL - CITY OF MUSKEGO RESOLUTION #39-91 0 ENDORSEMENT OF THE TESS CORNERS VOLUNTEEK FIRE DEPARTMENT ESTABLISHING AN EMT-INTERMEDIATE PROGRAM FOR THE CITY OF MUSKEG0 WHEREAS, Chapter HSS 111, Wisconsin Adminsitrative code, was created to allow licensed ambulance services, with approval of the Department of Health and Social Services, under medical direction, to train and use the skills of the Emergency Medical Technician-Intermediate (EMT-I) as outlined in this Chapter, in a pre-hospital setting, and WHEREAS, data shows that intervention by EMT-I's, the skills used, drugs administered, and procedures performed that the chances of saving a life in the pre-hospital setting greatly improve, and WHEREAS, the inclusion of this program with the Defibrillation program and other specialized training of the EMT's of the Tess Corners Volunteer Fire Department will improve the quality of life for residents and visitors of the City of Muskego, and WHEREAS, the only costs to the Fire Department would be that for the training and one time examination fee, and no additional costs for equipment would be needed, and WHEREAS, the establishment of an EMT-Intermediate program would be in the best public interest and welfare for the City of Muskego. WHEREAS, the Finance Committee has recommend approval. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT KESOLVED that the Common Council of the City of Muskego, upon the recommendation of the Finance Committee, does hereby declare its endorsement of the Tess Corners Volunteer Fire Department EMT-Intermediate program in the City of Muskego.
