CCR1988181COMMON COUNCIL - CITY OF MUSKEG0 RESOLUTION #181-88 RESOLUTION AS TO MOORLAND ROAD EXTENSION WHEREAS, the Common Council adopted Resolution #25-86 As Amended on February 11, 1986, approving the location of the Moreland Road Proposed Extension with a tentative scheduled project date of 1990, and WHEREAS, the City of Muskego is experiencing growth creating a need for direct access to the Interstate System, and WHEREAS, it is necessary to alleviate the heavy traffic volume on State Hwy. 24 which will become County Highway L on January 1, 1989, and WHEREAS, in order to assure continued economic development and provide for additional growth potential in the City of Muskego, schedule. it is necessary to construct the extension of Moorland Road on NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the City of Muskego does hereby request Waukesha County to construct the Moorland Road Extension project on schedule. RESOLUTION m-86 (As Amended) APPROVAL OF LOCATION OF MOORLAND ROAD PROPOSED EXTENSION WHEREAS, the Waukesha County Highway Committee has tentatively scheduled a project to extend Moorland Road to Hy. 24 in 1990, and WHEREAS, it is necessary to preserve the corridor, adopt the route and add it to the offictal maps, and WHEREAS, the Plan Commission has reviewed this matter on several occasion and has each time recommended the alternate "A" route. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the City of Muskego, upon the recommendation of the Plan Commission, does hereby adopt the concept of the proposed extension of Moorland Road marked alternate "A" and authorizes the setting of the necessary public hearing. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that alternate "A" has been selected because of the following: 2. Less disturbing to people in the area. 1. Provides the least significant environmental impact. 4. The easterly route would create additional traffic 3. More economical to construct. 5. The City recognized the recommendations of SEWRPC 6. The westerly route would connect with an extension flow to the already congested Tess Corners area. showing preference to the westerly route. proposed by the City of Muskego south of Hwy. 24 which would bypass the populous Tess Corners area.
