APPROVAL OF THE CITY OF MUSKEGO'S PARTICIPATION
IN COUNTY-WIDE 911 EMERGENCY PHONE SYSTEM
WHEREAS, Section 146.70 of the Wisconsin Statutes makes possible
the establishment and maintenance of a 911 emergency phone
system, and
WHEREAS, Section 146.70(3) specifically permits funding of
certain costs of a county-wide 911 system by County legislative
action, charging County service users of telephone service with
costs incurred by the telecommunications utility in installing
base used to operate such a system, and
and maintaining the trucking, central office equipment and data
WHEREAS, the Public Safety Communications Study Committee in
Waukesha County is considering Waukesha County's establishment of a sophisticated 911 emergency phone system, and
WHEREAS, submission of a Plan to the telecommunications utility
for establishment of such a system under 5146.70, Stats. will
include a contract between the County and Wisconsin Bell
Network Portion of enhanced 911 service,and
WHEREAS, the telecommunications utilities' Network rates are
established on a known number of Public Safety Answering Points
(dispatch centers) for the 911 system,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED:

1. That the City of Muskego supports the establishment of a
county-wide 911 emer ency telephone system, under the
provisions of 3146.7 8 , Wisconsin Statutes.
2. That the City of Muskego declares its intent to operate a
Public Safety Answering Point for dispatch services under
this emergency phone system located at the Muskego Police Station.
3. That the City of Muskego recognizes its obligation to
provide the enhanced" 911 service. The cost of such
service will not exceed $56,035 with a monthly maintenance
not to exceed $1,377.

4. That because of potential state budget constraints in
1989 the City of Muskego reserves the right to implement
determined by the City.
