RESOLUTION EXPRESSING INTENT TO BE RECEPTIVE ~~ ~ ~
TO "NO PARKING" RESTRICTIONS ON HWY. 24

FROM LANNON TO BAY LANE
WHEREAS, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation has
determined that the traffic count on Hwy. 24 between Lannon Drive
and Bay Lane does warrant the City's request for curb and gutter,
and
WHEREAS, the DOT would be receptive to installing curb and
gutters at the time of the Hwy. 24 resurfacing project, subject
to the City of Muskego agreeing to a "no parking" restriction on
Hwy. 24 between Lannon Drive and Bay Lane, and
WHEREAS, the Finance Committee has recommended approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the
City of Muskego, upon the recommendation of the Finance
Committee, does hereby wish to advise the Wisconsin Department of
Transportation that it supports a "no parking" restriction on
Hwy. 24 from Lannon Drive to Bay Lane in order to obtain curb and
gutter in that area.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Common Council also recognizes
the need for an 8' shoulder on each side of Hwy. 24 from Racine
Avenue to the eastern boundary of the City for the safety of the
bicycle traffic, and that the Police Department has documented
that on September 6, 1986, 29 bicycles travelled this area in a
24 hour period. In addition, the Common Council feels that the
bicycle count would increase once the hazardous conditions have
been eliminated.
