STATING CITY'S RESPONSE TO STATE'S POSITION
ON BIG MUSKEG0 LAKE DAM
WHEREAS, the City and State have been discussing the
restoration and future ownership of the Dam on the south end of
Big Muskego Lake, and
WHEREAS, the State's Building Commission has recommended that
the City of Muskego assume ownership and responsibility of
operation, maintenance and repair of the Dam upon completion of
the construction, and
WHEREAS, the Deputy Commissioners have submitted the following
Statement of Intent to the Council:
1. State of Wisconsin repair the Muskego Lake Dam at an
estimated cost of $47,000.
2. State of Wisconsin agrees to warrant Dam repairs for a
period of five (5) years after reconstruction.
3. City of Muskego agrees to take over ownership and
maintenance of Dam after reconstruction (except if

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the
City of Muskego, upon the recommendation of the Board of
Commissioners of the Big Muskego Lake/Bass Bay Protection and
Rehabilitation District, does hereby adopt the Statement of
Intent as the Council's position on the Dam restoration and
between the City of Muskego and the DNR. requests it be included in a Memorandum of Understanding
