RESOLUTION FOR ADOPTION OF A SEWER SERVICE AREA
PLAN REPORT FOR THE CITY OF MUSKEG0
WHEREAS, the Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning
commission has prepared a sanitary sewer service area plan for
the City of Muskeno--as documented in SEWRPC Communitv ~~
Assistance Planning Report No. 64, Sanitary Sewer Serbice Area
for the City of Muskego, Waukesha County, Wisconsin--and
subsequently adopted by the Common Council of the City of

Muskego on May 11, 1982, and by the Regional Planning-
Commission on June 17, 1982; and
WHEREAS, the Regional Planning Commission recognizes that the
assure that it continues to properly reflect the urban
sewer service area plan should be periodically reviewed to
development objectives of the community involved, especially as
such objectives may relate to the amount and spatial
distribution of new urban development requiring sewer service;
and
5 WHEREAS, the City of Muskego has reviewed the currently adopted
sanitary sewer service area plan and wishes to amend the plan
to include areas of residential development experiencing
serious operational problems with onsite sewage disposal
systems; the areas containing the Waste Management of
Wisconsin, Inc., Metro and Muskego landfills in order to
provide leachate conveyance and treatment services for these
landfill operations; and an area proposed for urban development
located adjacent to, but outside of, the currently adopted
sewer service area; and
WHEREAS, the City of Muskego on November 12, 1985, requested
the Regional Planning Commission to amend the currently adopted
sewer service area plan, taking into account the aforementioned
concerns; and
WHEREAS, the Regional Planning Commission, in accordance with
the City's November 12, 1985, request and working in
cooperation with the City of Muskego has prepared an amended
year 2000 sewer service area plan for the City, including
recommendations for the protection of environmentally sensitive
lands within, and tributary to, the sewer service area; and
WHEREAS, the aforereferenced recommendations are set forth in
SEWRPC Communitv Assistance Plannine Reuort No. 64. 2nd
Edition, Sanita;y Sewer Service Area for the City of Muskego,
Waukesha County, Wisconsin; and

WHEREAS, the Common Council concurs with the amended sewer
service area, as well as the delineations of environmentally
sensitive lands, and the recommendations set forth in SEWRPC
Community Assistance Planning Report No. 64, 2nd Edition.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the
City of Muskego, hereby adopts SEWRPC Community Assistance
Planning Report No. 64, 2nd Edition as a guide for the
provision of sanitary sewer service and land use management and
zoning within the planned sewer service area; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk transmit a certified
Planning Commission.
