AUTHORIZE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS FOR
PURCHASE OF CABLE TV EQUIPMENT
WHEREAS, the Public Welfare Committee has negotiated with
Ingersoll Cable Corporation (ICC) for cable television
equipment, and
WHEREAS, the Public Welfare Committee and the Finance Committee
have recommended that the 3% franchise payment on the $3.00
cable rate increase for 1986 be used for the purchase of cable
equipment, and
WHEREAS, ICC has agreed to match the funds expended by the City
for cable equipment, and in addition will provide one monitor
(television) at no cost to the City, and
WHEREAS ICC has also agreed to submit the 3% franchise payment
on the $3.00 increase and the matching funds to the City by
December 31, 1986, and
WHEREAS, these funds are to be used for the purchase of a new
character generator for $500.00 and used editing equipment for
$5,900.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the
City of Muskego, upon the recommendation of the Finance
Committee and the Public Welfare Committee, does hereby
authorize the expenditure of an amount not to exceed $6,400 for
the purchase of a new character generator and used editing
Corporation to the City by December 31, 1986, by submittal of
equipment, with the funds to be reimbursed by Ingersoll Cable
the 3% franchise payment on the $3.00 increase and the matching
funds.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Attorney is hereby
directed to amend the Cable TV Ordinance to delete the
requirement that the Grantee (Ingersoll) will provide
broadcasting hours to the City, and upon receipt of the above
equipment, the City's Cable TV Club will perform said
broadcasting duties.
