RECOMMENDING A SURVEY BE TAKEN BY THE U. S. POSTAL DEPARTMENT REGARDING ZIP CODES
WHEREAS, a portion of the City of Muskego is served by a
a different zip code, and different post office in a different county and which has
WHEREAS, the Muskego Chamber of Commerce feels this situation
creates confusion for the citizens and businesses who pay
taxes to the City of Muskego and Waukesha County and the
State of Wisconsin, and they would prefer that the entire
community be served by the Muskego Post Office with a single
zip code, and
WHEREAS, the Muskego Chamber of Commerce has requested that
the Public Welfare Committee request the Common Council to
endorse the concept of a U. S. Postal Department survey of
the 53130 zip code area to obtain their views as to which
zip code those residents want to be located in, and
WHEREAS, the Public Welfare Committee has recommended approval
of this request.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the City
of Muskego, upon the recommendation of the Public Welfare
Committee, does hereby recommend that a survey be taken by the
U. S. Postal Department of the 53130 zip code area to obtain
their views as to which zip code those residents want to be
located in.
