RECLAfSSIFICATION OF LIBRARY EMPLOYEE FROM DESK
ATTENDANT TO LIBRARIAN I
WHEREAS, the Common Council has adopted a resolution estab-
and
lishing the position of desk attendant at $3.35 per hour,
WHEREAS, the position was established because the employee
in the library was no longer eligible for CETA funding, and
WHEREAS, under a contract- negotiated between the City of
Muskego and the American Federation of State, County and
with the following salary
Municipal Employees provides for the position of Librarian I
Start $759.05 Mo. 6 mos. $853.94 Mo.
18 Mos. $908.97 per Mo.
and
WHEREAS, recently negotiations with the Union indicated that
the employee presently holding the position of Desk Attendant
does not belong to the Union although she is qualified to
do so and her scope of work has expanded far beyond that of
a Desk Attendant and more closely follows the job description
for the Librarian I position, and
WHEREAS, it was agreed during negotiations to recommend to
the Common Council that Marla Sahleen, who presently holds
the position of Desk Attendant be permitted to join the Union
and that she be elevated to the position of Librarian I.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the City
of Muskego, upon the recommendation of the Finance Committee,
Librarian I at a salary of $4.38 per hr.
does hereby reclassify Marla Sahleen from Desk Attendant to
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this action be effective as of
March 15, 1982.
