CCR1981146RESOLUTION 11146-81
AUTHORIZING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO DRAFT THE
ORDINANCE NECESSARY TO CREATE ALDERMANIC
DISTRICTS IN THE CITY OF MUSKEGO
WHEREAS, on the 11th day of August, 1981, the Common Council
overrode the Mayor's veto of Resolution #128-81 which created
ward boundaries in the City of Muskego, and
WHEREAS, the ward map created by that action was appealed in the circuit court of Waukesha County, and
WHEREAS, Judge McGraw instituted a map of ward boundaries as
a result of the appeal process which is temporary and will
meeting the criteria established by Judge McGraw is adopted
remain the ward map of the city until such time that a map
by the Common Council, and
WHEREAS, time constraints are such that it is imperative
aldermanic districts be formed as quickly as possible and
under law, no later than by November 1, 1981, and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk is required, by law, to notify all
electors of any change in their status as voters prior to
December 1st which is the date nomination papers can be
circulated, and
WHEREAS, it would be in the best interest of the city to
resolve this matter as quickly as possible,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the Common Council of the City of
Muskego does hereby direct the city attorney's office to
draft the ordinance which would establish aldermanic districts
in the City of Muskego.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED the city attorney's office is directed to use the ward map approved by Judge McGraw in establishing
those boundaries.
