URGING THE WAUKESHA COUNTY BOARD TO RECONSIDER
RESOLUTION #54-7/ 81
WHEREAS, the Waukesha County Board, at its last meeting on
July 21, 1981, adopted Resolution #54-7/81 which provided
for the discontinuation of the present policy of the
County Treasurer's office to settle all taxes due a rnun-
icipality in March or April of each year, and
WHEREAS, the resolution further provides the settlement
of taxes shall be no later than August 20th, and
WHEREAS, the establishment of such a policy could create
serious problems for taxing districts (particularly the
school district), and therefore cost the taxpayers of the
city a considerable increase of taxes, and
WHEREAS, the Finance Committee of the Comon Council has
recommended that the County Board be urged to rescind
Resolution $/54-7/81 in order that the present policy
for the settlement of taxes can be continued,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the Comon Council of the City
of Muskego, upon the recommendation of the Finance Committee,
does hereby urge the Waukesha County Board to rescind
its action on Resolution 1/54-7181.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution shall
be sent to the Chairman of unty Board, Lloyd Owens,
Supervisor George Gphr and isor Frank Narlock.
