CCR1979195ACCEPTANCE OF OFFER TO PURCHASE A PORTION OF FORMER LASSA LOT WHEREAS, the City of Muskego has received an offer to purchase a portion of the former Lassa property as set forth in said offer from Mr. Michael Nowitzke, and WHEREAS, ,the Finance Committee has sent the matter to the Common Council without recommendation, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the City of Muskego does hereby accept the offer to purchase Michael Nowitzke for the sum of $2,000.00. a portion of the former Lassa property received from Mr. DATED THIS 9th DAY OF October , 1979. October 22, 1979 TO: THE HONORABLE ALDERMEN FROM: MAYOR GOTTFRIED Gentlemen: On the 9th day of October, 1979, the Common Council adopted Resolution #195-79 which accepted an offer from Mr. Michael Nowitzke to purchase a parcel of land from the city for $2,000 00. The parcel involved in this matter is slightly over one-third acre and it is part of the former Lassa property which was purchased by the city in 1974 for $9,700.00. The city also picked up the cost of the sewer assessment and laterals which were installed to serve the property. Although it is true that the parcel in question is of little value to the city at this time and that if it were placed on the tax roll the city would receive some benefits I cannot agree that $2,000 00 is a fair and equitable price. will have to made prior to the sale of the property as well If you take into consideration that a certified survey map as a title insurance policy provided, the monies received from the sale could easily be reduced to $1,500.00. which in reality is reduced to $1,500.00, is that we are not It is my feeling that the acceptance of an offer of $2,000 00, protecting the interest of the taxpayer as judiciously as we action and I respectfully request that you sustain this veto. should.
