ASSURING THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES OF THE
CITY‘S WILLINGNESS TO COOPERATE IN THE DEVELOPMENT
AND MANAGEMENT OF A PUBLIC ACCESS TO BIG
MUSKEGO LAKE AND BASS BAY
WHEREAS, the Commissioners of the Big Muskego Lake-Bass Bay
Protection and Rehabilitation District have applied to the
State Department of Natural Resources for funds to help offset
some of the costs of a feasibility study, and
WHEREAS, the Comissioners have been advised that funds are not
available because of the lack of a public launch site, and
WHEREAS,. they have been further-advtsed that. if^ a .site could be
would be available in the.near-future funds would be provided , and
acquired and developed-.or at least assurances given that .a site
WHEREAS, the Comon Council recognizes that a feasibility study
Big Muskego Lake and Bass Bay is to occur, and
is the first step which must be taken if the rehabilitation of
WHEREAS, the Common Council wishes to assure the DNR as well as
the residents of the Big Muskego Lake-and Bass Bay District of
its continuine concern and interest.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the City of
Muskego does hereby declare its intent to work with the State of
Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources in locating, acquiring
Lake. The site will have a public boat launch and parking
and developing a public access site to Bass Bay or Big Muskego
launch ramp. facilities adjacent to or within one-fourth mile of the public
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that once the State of Wisconsin has
acquired and developed the access site the City of Muskego will
maintain and operate the facility
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED the City of Muskego will charge a r<:,asonablc
fee for access users.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution shall be
of the DNR in order that they can begin the process of releasing
sent to Mr. Oliver Williams, Mr Carroll Besnady and Mr Don Tills
Lake and Bass Bay.
